Sam Kerr Football Launches Accessible Online Training Program, SKF+

Sam Kerr Football has launched SKF+, a global training program designed for kids to build ball mastery skills, football fitness and confidence – indoors or outdoors in any space where they can kick a ball.

The online program has been developed under Sam’s guidance to give young players access to tools that will help them level up their skills. Designed for both novices and those who already have good ball control, the program includes two 25 minute skills sessions each week and a fun challenge to put the learnings into practice.

Aimed at kids aged from 6 to 14 years old, SKF+ is available in two streams – SKF+ Train-On and SKF+ Elite to help deliver on the brands mission of being inclusive and accessible to all. The Train-On membership gives players access to all the training content, tips and advice on how to improve their game as well as awarding them with participation-based badges for skill completion. Elite membership also includes one-on-one feedback each week from the SKF coaching team to help those who want to improve more rapidly or those who thrive with direct feedback.

Requiring minimal equipment, the program is designed to be easy for kids to participate in with minimal parental input. Once joined, the intention is that kids can learn autonomously with the online and voice prompts, and encouragement from SKF Coaches throughout each session. To participate in a session, kids only need a ball, a few markers and a minimal amount of space so it’s ideal for those who live in apartments, or who are confined indoors over the winter months. Research shows that the more time kids have a ball at their feet, the greater their ball mastery skills develop. We want all kids to be able to nurture their skills and love for the game no matter where in the world they are.

While ideally, kids will train twice a week with SKF+ and even repeat sessions to increase their confidence and ability, the program is self-paced. The individual nature of the training syllabus gives busy families options to fit training in as they can, and also offers a viable activity to help kids who are recovering from injury or have medical conditions that constrain their physical ability.

SKF+ sits cohesively alongside the physical training program that has been developed for Sam Kerr Football Schools, so kids who train in person with us can continue to train at home with SKF+.

As Sam Kerr Football prepares to announce the first physical locations of our schools, we are keenly aware that not all kids will have a school near them from the outset. The program was developed to allow kids in this situation, and those who not able to enrol at a physical location for whatever reason, an option to continue be inspired by Sam and to build on their love for the game.

With SKF+, Sam Kerr Football continues to revolutionise football training, empowering young players to reach their full potential and excel both on and off the pitch.
